Join the Ultra Running Company staff as we explore Charlotte's very own Backyard trails in demo shoes from our friends at inov-8.
Situated just west of Park Road on Tyvola Road, the Backyard trails are the newest addition to the Charlotte trail running scene and an undiscovered gem for many. While this hidden section of single track won't stay a secret long (future expansion of the Charlotte Greenway plan to intersect with portions of the trail), we're going to introduce URC friends to its twists and turns as a way to burn off some of those Christmas calories!
What do we love about the Backyard trails? Well, first of all, there are almost a dozen miles of trails winding through this square mile of land, meaning tons of turns, numerous options to change up the length of your runs, and an undulating course that covers a huge variety of terrain.
What better shoe to discover uncharted territory than the one designed to take on the most rugged trails in the world. We're talking about inov-8, our friends from the UK born and bred on the fells of Britain (don't know what that means? Look it up here). inov-8s are known for their no-compromise approach to off-road adventure, and we'll be testing two great new models: the Mixed-Use RoadClaw 275 and the more aggressive TerraClaw 250 Trail shoe.
This edition of the Ultra Running Trail Explorer Series will meet in the parking lot adjacent to the Marion Diehl Recreation Center, along side their new open air workout center. Attendees will be provided a pair of demo inov-8s prior to the run, and can sample one or both of these fantastic shoes in the "wild" of the Backyard Trails. Our friends at inov-8 are throwing in some cool swag as well, so get there early and make your feet happy!
